Why can't I see my ad traffic data?

No Ad Traffic in Your Dashboard or in Google Ads

Not seeing traffic data can be alarming.

The first step is to identify where the data is missing: is it in your ClickSambo dashboard or in Google Ads itself? The solution depends on the answer.

Scenario A: No Traffic is Showing in Your ClickSambo Dashboard

This is the most common issue. It means your ads are likely running, but a technical problem is preventing the tracking data from reaching ClickSambo.

Here’s what to check:

Google Ads Auto-Tagging Is Disabled

This is a critical setting for any third-party tracking.

Action: Log into your Google Ads account, go to Account Settings > Auto-tagging, and ensure the box is checked for "Tag the URL that people click through from my ad."

Website Tracking Code Isn't Working

The ClickSambo script must be installed correctly on your website to record visits.

Action: Verify the ClickSambo tracking script is present on all your landing pages. Use your browser's developer tools (F12 > Network tab) to confirm the script loads successfully when you visit the page.

Google Ads Tracking Template Is Misconfigured

An error in this template will break the data connection.

Action: In Google Ads, double-check that the ClickSambo tracking template is correctly applied at the account or campaign level. Look carefully for any typos or syntax errors.

Conflicting Website Scripts

Another script on your site (like from a different analytics tool or a plugin) could be interfering with ClickSambo's tracker.

Action: Use your browser's developer console to check for JavaScript errors on your landing page. Try temporarily disabling other scripts to see if that resolves the issue.

Scenario B: No Traffic is Showing in Google Ads Itself

If you see zero impressions and zero clicks directly within your Google Ads reports, the issue is not with tracking but with your ad campaign setup.

Here are the most common causes:

Campaigns or Ads Are Paused: Verify that your campaigns, ad groups, and ads are all set to "Enabled."

Ads Are Disapproved or Under Review: Check the "Status" column to ensure your ads have been "Approved."

Billing Issues: A failed payment or an expired credit card will pause all your ads. Go to the "Billing & payments" section in Google Ads to confirm your account is in good standing.

Low Bids or Budget: Your daily budget may be too low, or your bids may not be competitive enough to win any ad auctions.
