Frequently asked questions
What is an invalid click?
An invalid click is an ad click that does not reflect genuine interest from a real user. Repeated clicks from the same IP address, requests from data-centre or proxy networks, automated scripts and deliberate competitor clicks all fall within the definition. The advertiser pays for these clicks but receives no visit or conversion in return.
What is the invalid click rate in Turkey?
40.1% of the Google Ads clicks ClickSambo tracked across Turkey in the second quarter of 2026 were classified as invalid. In the previous quarter the figure was 38.1%. These numbers describe the traffic tracked by ClickSambo and are not an estimate for the Turkish market as a whole.
Doesn't Google already filter invalid clicks?
Google applies its own filtering, but the data shows this is not sufficient on its own. In the second quarter of 2026, 87.9% of the clicks flagged as invalid also appeared in the advertiser's Google Ads click report — almost the same rate as valid clicks, at 87.0%.
Which sectors are most affected?
In the second quarter of 2026 the highest invalid click rates were in banking and finance (83.8%), maintenance services (70.8%), beauty and cosmetics (65.6%) and online retail (63.1%). The lowest rates were in online gaming (4.5%) and medical services (16.1%).
How often is the report published?
Once a quarter. The report is compiled after the quarter closes and sent to everyone who leaves an email address.
