Fake clicks empty your budget. We keep them off your ads.
Locksmith, towing, taxi rank, florist, drain clearing, emergency electrician, plumbing, mobile tyre. You built the business, bought the domain and funded the ads — and then the budget goes, one of two ways: a little every day, or all of it before noon. ClickSambo watches every click, blocks the fraudulent sources, and keeps your budget for the people who actually call.
The trades that named themselves after the search
In an urgent local trade, the oldest winning move is to own the words people type. So these businesses buy the exact-match generic domain — emergency-locksmith.example, 24hourtowing.example, blockeddrains.example — where the search term is the brand. It is a smart, compounding asset: every time it is seen, it earns a little recognition.
It has one catch. In a small local auction the same visibility that wins customers also puts you at the top of the page for every rival who types the keyword to check their own rank. The asset and the exposure are the same thing — which is why the click-quality question reaches these businesses first.
Illustrative results. The domain is the search term — and everyone bidding on it sees you sitting at the top.
The service providers we protect
If one lost lead is a lost job, a fake click is not a nuisance — it is lost work. Each of these lives on the phone ringing, and each tends to advertise on a domain that says exactly what it does.

Same economics everywhere: the customer calls the first name they reach. If yours is an urgent local service on Google Ads — moving, HVAC, cleaning, pest control — the protection applies; only the thresholds change.
You did everything right. The budget still disappears.
You built the business, bought the domain, funded the ads. Then it goes, one of two ways.
The slow bleed
A little every day. The dashboard looks healthy — the phone stays quiet.
The sudden burn
The whole day’s budget, gone before noon — you’re off for the evening rush.
- Clicks
- Click-through rate
- Impression share
- Spend on budget
- Fake clicks & wasted spendnot shown
Everything looks healthy — yet the phone barely rings, and some agencies quietly drop accounts like yours. The report has no line for where the budget really went. ClickSambo adds it: what was fake, what was blocked, and how much you saved — each with a timestamp.
- emergency locksmithRang, hung up
- 24 hour towingOn-site
- blocked drainNeighbour, not a customer
- mobile tyreReal, no reply
- cheap towingfake · blocked
The agency report showed everything green. Here’s what actually happened: one call rang and hung up, one was a neighbour, one never replied, one was fake and blocked — and only a single real job. This is the line the agency report doesn’t have. Illustrative.
Why these trades get hit the hardest
It is not bad luck. The economics of an urgent local service are exactly what make a wasted click so expensive — and draining a rival so easy.
Winner takes all
An emergency has no second place. The customer calls the first name they reach, so an hour off the page is a lost job — not a lost impression.
Your keywords cost the most
“Emergency”, “24 hour” and “near me” are among the priciest clicks on Google. Every fake one burns more than almost any other word you could buy.
Small budgets, finished fast
Most local services run on a modest daily budget. A morning burst can end it before the afternoon rush — just when people start searching.
Draining you is absurdly easy
No software, no skill, no cost. A rival sees the same ad you do; clicking it all day is the cheapest way to take you off the board.
What the attack actually looks like
There is rarely one dramatic event. There is a shape that repeats: the same source coming back on a schedule, a burst that lands all at once, visits that never meant to call. This is how it shows up in an account.
The same address, again and again
One IP clicking through the week, always in working hours, and not one call at the end of it.
A rotating range
Block that address and the same behaviour picks up from a new one minutes later, moving across an IP range.
The burst
100 to 200 clicks landing at once, timed to finish your daily budget before the lunch rush even starts.
The zero-second visit
No scroll, no tap on the number — gone almost the instant the page loads. Someone with a real emergency never behaves like this.
Same hour, opposite behaviour
Night work is real in these trades — blocking the clock would cost you jobs. The tell is not the hour but a cluster of silent, no-call visits sitting right among your genuine night calls.
Installed, or hired
A bot a rival runs on their own phone, or someone they paid to do it. It takes no skill — which is exactly why it is so common.
Google catches one kind of attack. The other is the one that costs you.
There are two ways to attack an ad, and they are not equally expensive. The platform is genuinely good at catching the obvious one — which is exactly why the quiet one is the one that drains your budget.
The crude way
Hammering your ad link directly, over and over, with no search behind it. Easy to automate — and easy to spot. It trips Google’s own invalid-click detection and is largely refunded. Alarming to watch, mostly self-correcting on the bill.
The convincing way
Behaving like a customer: run the search, load the page, click like a human, from real devices at sensible times. Nothing looks wrong in any single click, so it is rarely flagged and rarely refunded. This is the one that quietly drains the budget month after month — and the one a dedicated layer is built for.
A quiet season that isn’t quiet
Locksmith and moving searches spike over the summer; boiler, plumbing and drains spike with the first cold. Everyone raises bids in the same two weeks — and so does the incentive to burn a rival’s budget. Off-peak, demand falls but the attacks do not: a slow month can carry a higher share of invalid clicks than the busiest one.
The pattern is measured, not imagined
Independent research puts numbers on it. A January 2026 Lunio study across 2.7 billion clicks on six ad platforms found 8.51% of paid traffic invalid — roughly one click in twelve — with lead-generation accounts running notably higher than ecommerce. Urgent local services sit at the sharp end of that range.
What Google Ads Protection does
It runs on your existing Google Ads account through the approved API. Three mechanisms do the work — always on, included in every plan.
Click thresholds
You decide how many times one IP can click your ad in a period — say 2 in a day, 3 in a week. Anything over the line is treated as fraud automatically, with limits pre-set for your industry. You can change them if you want.
IP & IP-range blocking
Fraudulent IPs — and a whole range when the clicks spread across it (e.g. 172.165.11.*) — are sent to Google’s exclusion list, so they can no longer find and click your ad.
Conversion tracking
Invalid clicks go to Google as negative signals and real calls and WhatsApp messages as positive ones. As Google re-learns from clean data, CPC drops and your ads find better-fit customers.
Straight about what it can and can’t do
It can’t stop a fraudulent source from reaching your website — that is technically impossible. It slows how much they can cost you on Google, and steers your budget toward real customers.
What Meta Ads Protection does
Meta works differently — it doesn’t allow IP blocking — so ClickSambo protects it Meta’s own sanctioned way: audiences, signals and the Conversions API.
Audience exclusions
Fraudulent visitors are collected into a custom audience and excluded from every ad set — the strongest lever Meta offers. Meta itself then stops showing your ads to them.
Clean signals (Conversions API)
Every fraudulent visit is sent to your pixel as a signal and every real interaction as a positive one, so Meta’s delivery learns to spend on people who actually buy or call.
Lead-form protection
Instant Form leads are scored the moment Meta delivers them: fake submissions are excluded, and the real leads flow straight to your CRM so your team calls people ready to buy.
Meta protection is available on the Enterprise plan; each connected Meta ad account uses one protected domain.
What the protection does for you
The point is not to win an argument with a bot. It is to make sure the money you put into Google or Meta reaches the person who is about to call.
Your budget reaches the evening
The rush when people actually need you — including the night jobs — doesn’t find your ad switched off because a rival burned it by lunch.
You outlast the competition
While a rival’s budget runs dry at midday, you stay live through the highest-converting hours.
Lower CPC
As Google and Meta re-learn on clean data, your cost per click falls.
More calls, same budget
With the fake share gone, the same budget can bring 2×, 3×, even 5× more phone and WhatsApp inquiries.
Leads scored, ads aimed right
Every lead is scored and your ads are steered to a proper audience — real customers, not bots.
Numbers you can see
Real calls and WhatsApp, each tied to a keyword and an outcome — the line your agency report was missing.
Still under attack? We apply the Circuit Breaker.
Protection runs all the time and handles the everyday load. But sometimes an attack concentrates hard — the same keyword, the same device, the same region, hit again and again until the budget is gone. For those accounts there is a second layer that sits on top of your protection.
Keyword pause
The keyword under attack is paused while the rest of the campaign keeps running — then reopens on its own when the window ends.
Device shutdown
Whichever device the burst comes from is switched off at campaign level for a set window, then restored automatically.
Geographic narrowing
The region the attack concentrates on is temporarily excluded, then brought back by itself — your real service area is never touched.
It is a paid add-on — you only take it if the attacks justify it
The Circuit Breaker is priced on top of your ClickSambo plan. Base protection stays underneath it, exactly as before; this layer just adds the automatic, temporary shutdown for concentrated attacks.
Up to 25,000 clicks per month
Added to your current plan fee.
Above 25,000 clicks per month
Added to your current plan fee.
How it works in practice
Every action stays at the narrowest level — a single keyword, device or region — never the whole campaign, and each one is logged with a timestamp. Full detail is on the Circuit Breaker page. If you are already a customer, we can switch it on right after you ask.
Plans that fit how you advertise
Protection is sized to your monthly click volume, not your industry. Most service providers sit comfortably in the standard tiers, and the thresholds are tuned to your own account.
- Real-time analysis of every click on your ads
- Automatic exclusion of fraudulent IPs, ranges and devices
- Runs on your existing Google Ads account, no campaign changes
- Support for Call-Only and call-asset campaigns via negative signals
- Timestamped record of every blocked click, for you and your agency
- Circuit Breaker available as a paid add-on for heavy attacks
Tell us your monthly clicks and we will price it
Send us your Google Ads account and monthly click volume, and we will point you to the right tier and set your thresholds. If the attacks are heavy and concentrated, we will add the Circuit Breaker on top — and only then.
Frequently asked questions
What is click fraud?
Click fraud is when someone clicks your paid ads with no intention of becoming a customer — a competitor draining your budget, an automated bot, or a repeat visitor who never calls. Each fake click spends your budget without any chance of work, which is exactly what ClickSambo detects and blocks.
Will it block my real customers?
No. Genuine searchers who might call are never blocked. Only sources that show a fraud pattern — clicking without ever intending to reach you — are excluded. Real clicks are used only to measure the fraud rate, never to shut anyone out.
My competitor is clearly clicking my ads. Can you prove who it is?
You can document the pattern — the repeat addresses, the timing, the session behaviour, the device fingerprint — and it is added to Google’s exclusion list, which reduces your loss over time. Tying it to a named business is a separate, and usually not worth-it, fight. Our focus is reducing the loss, not chasing the culprit.
My agency’s report looks fine but the phone doesn’t ring. Why?
Because the usual report — clicks, CTR, impression share — has no line for how many of those clicks were ever going to call. All of it can look healthy while a real share of the budget goes to fake clicks. ClickSambo adds that missing line: what was fake, what was blocked, and how much budget it saved, with timestamps you and your agency can both see.
I paid a lot for a generic, exact-match domain. Does that make me a target?
It makes you more visible, which in a small, competitive trade comes to much the same thing: every rival who types the keyword to check their own ad rank sees you at the top. The domain is still the right asset — it just means the click-quality question reaches you sooner than a business nobody can find. Protection is what lets the domain do its job.
Isn’t Google already filtering fake clicks?
It is, and it credits you for what it catches. But the shape of what it catches matters. Crude attacks that hammer your link with no search behind them look obviously non-human and are largely refunded. Traffic that runs the search, loads the page and clicks like a person is far harder to flag and far less likely to be refunded — and that is the expensive kind. Closing that gap is what a third-party layer is for.
What is the Circuit Breaker, and does it cost extra?
Yes, it is a paid add-on — +€10 per month up to 25,000 clicks, +€20 above — on top of your plan. Base protection is always included; the Circuit Breaker is the extra layer for accounts under heavy, concentrated attacks. When fake clicks pile onto one keyword, device or region, it briefly closes just that channel and reopens it automatically. You only add it if the attacks justify it. Detail is on the Circuit Breaker page.
My daily budget is small. Is it worth protecting?
The smaller the budget, the more a burst of fake clicks hurts, because it ends your day sooner and takes you off the page before the busy hours. Protection matters most, not least, on a tight budget.
My campaigns are Call-Only. Can you still protect them?
Yes — and it is worth acting now for a second reason. Google is retiring Call-Only ads: no new ones since February 2026, and existing ones sunset in February 2027, so moving to responsive search ads with call assets is already urgent. That move also helps, because click-through traffic lands on your site where it can be filtered like any other click. For taps that go straight to the dialler, detection runs through conversion tracking and the response is negative signalling — the worthless sources are fed back to Google so its optimisation steers away from them.
Do I have to change my Google Ads campaigns?
No. ClickSambo runs over your existing account through the Google Ads API. Your campaigns, keywords and budgets stay exactly as they are.
Does it work for my line of work?
If you advertise an urgent local service — locksmith, towing, taxi, florist, drains, electrical, plumbing, tyre, appliance repair, courier and the like — yes. The protection is the same across trades; only the thresholds are tuned to your click volume.
