We close the door the attack comes through.
Blocking an IP stops a single click. When fake clicks concentrate on one keyword, one device or one region, the circuit breaker pauses that channel temporarily and reopens it by itself when the window expires. Your budget survives the day. Your campaign stays live.
An attack does not always arrive scattered
When it loads onto a single door, blocking IPs one by one does not stop the budget from draining. The click has already happened, and the moment the attacker rotates their IP they are back on the same keyword.
It loads onto one keyword
A competitor or bot targets your most expensive keyword; the budget drains through that one term.
It comes from one device
Emulator or in-app traffic arrives from the same device type for hours.
It comes from one region
A heavy stream starts from a region you do not serve and never convert in.
The rule is the same in all three breakers
If more than the configured number of fake clicks arrives within the configured window, that channel is paused and reopens by itself when the time is up. No manual work required.
Detect
Fake clicks are already classified in real time. The circuit breaker counts which keyword, device or region they cluster on.
Break
Once the threshold is crossed, the action is applied instantly through the Google Ads API. Only that channel stops; the rest of the campaign stays live.
Wait
The channel stays closed for the configured period. The attack traffic hits a closed door and the budget is left for genuine searches.
Auto-restore
When the timer ends, the channel returns to its previous state. No risk of a forgotten paused keyword.
Three separate breakers, three separate channels
Each one is switched on and off individually and runs on its own thresholds. The values below are the default starting settings; thresholds and durations are configured for your account.
Keyword / ad group pause
The attacked keyword is paused while the rest of the campaign stays live.
Device shutdown
Whichever device type the attack comes from gets a -100% bid adjustment at campaign level.
Geographic narrowing
The location the attack concentrates on is temporarily excluded from the campaign as a negative criterion.
Thresholds and durations are configured for your account
We set each breaker's 5, 30 and 60-minute fake click thresholds, how long the channel stays closed and how long to wait before acting again, together with you and based on your account data.
One door closes, not the whole campaign
The action always stays at the narrowest level. While the attacked keyword is paused, the other keywords in the same ad group keep running.
Every action is on the record
Which keyword, which threshold fired it, which Google Ads API call was made, when it was rolled back. All of it sits in the dashboard with a timestamp.

These records come from an account calibrated on the aggressive side. All three breakers are represented. Account and campaign details are never shared.
Thresholds are set per account
A volume that counts as noise on an ecommerce account can mean an attack on a lead-driven one. That is why we never go live with a preset.
High volume ecommerce
Thousands of clicks a day is normal; 10 clicks in 5 minutes is noise. Thresholds go up and the geo breaker is usually left off.
Lead-driven local service
Even 40 clicks a day matters; 5 clicks on one keyword is suspicious. Thresholds go down and the keyword breaker is the critical layer.
Monitoring mode first — optional
If you prefer, we run the circuit breaker in monitoring mode first: the system takes no action and only reports how often each threshold would have fired. This dry run is not mandatory; we can review your data together and go straight to live mode.
Safety rails
The circuit breaker does not run unbounded. Every action stays inside this frame.
Maximum actions
Upper limit per domain.
Minimum fraud rate
Below it, no action is taken at all.
Minimum volume
Anything less counts as statistical noise.
Per campaign
How many actions can stay open at once.
Exemption lists
Protected keyword, protected location and exempt campaign lists. Nothing on those lists is touched, no matter how many fake clicks arrive.
The last active keyword is never paused
The final enabled keyword in an ad group is left alone so the group never goes empty.
The last active device is never closed
Setting all three device types to -100% would effectively stop the campaign, so it is blocked.
Your campaign does not shut down. The door the attack came through closes for a while.
During heavy attacks your budget lasts until the end of the day
The core benefit of the circuit breaker is not wiping the attack out entirely, but slowing down how fast it drains your budget. When the attack concentrates on one channel, that channel closes briefly, the traffic hits a closed door, and your ads keep running for the rest of the day.
Budget spreads across the day
An attack cannot burn the budget in a couple of hours. Real users searching in the evening still see your ad.
Intraday competitive edge holds
While the competitor whose budget ran out at noon drops off the results page, you stay live through the highest-converting hours.
Same budget, more conversions
As the share going to fake clicks falls, the same budget buys more genuine clicks: more calls and more WhatsApp messages.

Frequently asked questions
Will my whole campaign stop?
No. The action always stays at the level of a single keyword, a single device type or a single location. The last active keyword in an ad group and the last active device type are never closed, and country-level exclusion is off by default.
Which clicks do the threshold numbers refer to?
Not total clicks, but the clicks ClickSambo classifies as fake. A threshold of "10 clicks in 5 minutes" means 10 fake clicks arrived on that keyword within 5 minutes. Genuine user clicks never enter this counter; they are only used to calculate the fraud rate.
Do I have to re-enable a paused keyword myself?
No. When the rollback period ends, the system returns the keyword, device or location to its previous state and logs it in the dashboard.
Could it pause a good keyword by mistake?
Three conditions have to hold at once: the fraud rate must be above the threshold, total clicks must pass the minimum volume, and the hourly action limit must not be exceeded. Anything you add to the exemption lists is never looked at by the circuit breaker.
Can I set the thresholds myself?
For now we enter the thresholds for you based on your account data; the dashboard interface is not live yet. With the update we are releasing soon you will be able to edit the 5, 30 and 60-minute thresholds, the rollback period and the cooldown yourself.
Is any extra setup needed to get started?
No extra setup. If you already use ClickSambo your Google Ads account is already connected; the circuit breaker runs over that existing connection and can be switched on right after you ask for it.
Does it replace my current ClickSambo protection?
No, it sits on top of it. Click analysis, IP and device-level filtering, reporting and conversion forwarding all keep working as before. The circuit breaker is a separate layer that steps in when an attack concentrates on one channel.
Do not let high-volume attacks burn your budget in one go
The circuit breaker closes the channel the attack comes through, so your budget goes to genuine searches all day. Far more real traffic on the same budget, and more calls and WhatsApp messages.
