How to use ClickSambo if you're already using Kickbite

Using ClickSambo with Kickbite

Many businesses use multiple tools to track ad performance, such as analytics or call-tracking software.

This guide explains the recommended method for ensuring both ClickSambo and another tracking service can work together seamlessly within Google Ads without conflict.

The Golden Rule: Separate Fields for Separate Jobs

The key to a successful integration is to use Google Ads' two different URL parameter fields for their intended purposes:

  1. Tracking Template: This field is for redirect-based trackers that analyze clicks before the user reaches your site. This is where ClickSambo's parameter goes.
  2. Final URL Suffix: This field is for parameters that need to be attached directly to your final landing page URL for your own analytics or CRM. This is where your other service's parameters should go.

Attempting to combine two redirecting trackers into the single Tracking Template field can break your links and cause data loss. Keeping them separate is the safest and most reliable method.

Step-by-Step Integration Guide

Prerequisite: Before you begin, ensure you have the tracking parameters from both ClickSambo and your other service (e.g., Kickbite) ready.

Step 1: Set Up the ClickSambo Tracking Template

Follow our standard procedure for connecting your Google Ads account.

  • Automatic Setup (Recommended): Allow our system to automatically populate the Tracking Template field for you.
  • Manual Setup: If you choose the manual option, paste your unique ClickSambo tracking parameter into the Tracking Template field at the account level in Google Ads (Settings > Account Settings > Tracking).

Step 2: Add Your Other Service's Parameters to the Final URL Suffix

  1. In the same Tracking section in your Google Ads account settings, find the Final URL Suffix field.
  2. Paste the URL parameters required by your other tracking service (e.g., Kickbite) into this box.
    • Example: If your other service uses parameters like utm_source=kickbite&cid={campaignid}, you would paste exactly that into the Final URL Suffix box.

Step 3: Install Both Website Codes

Ensure the JavaScript tracking codes for both ClickSambo and your other service are installed correctly on your website, following each service's specific installation instructions.

Step 4: Save and Test Thoroughly

This is the most critical step. An incorrect setup can prevent your ads from running or lead to inaccurate data.

  1. In Google Ads, use the "Test" button next to your Tracking Template to ensure there are no immediate errors.
  2. Perform a live end-to-end test using Google's Ad Preview and Diagnosis tool.
  3. After your test click, verify that data appears correctly in BOTH your ClickSambo dashboard AND your other service's dashboard. If data is missing from either platform, review your setup.

What NOT To Do

  • Do NOT paste two different redirecting URLs into the same Tracking Template field.
  • Do NOT put ClickSambo's redirect parameter into the Final URL Suffix.
  • Do NOT put your landing page parameters (like UTMs) into the Tracking Template.
