Navigating Your Google Ads Fraud Analysis Page

While the main dashboard gives you a high-level overview, the Google Ads Fraud Analysis page is where you can perform a deep-dive investigation into the traffic coming specifically from your Google Ads campaigns.

This page is organized into several powerful tabs, each offering a unique way to filter and analyze your data to uncover actionable insights.

Understanding the Sub-Navigation Tabs

Clicking on any of these tabs will update the main content area to display the relevant data, allowing for detailed investigation.

1. Ad Clicks

  • This is the default view and your most granular log. It displays a detailed, click-by-click list showing information like the timestamp, IP address, location, device, and the fraud score or reason for each click.
  • Use this log to investigate specific suspicious clicks or to get a raw, moment-by-moment view of your incoming ad traffic.

2. Blocked IPs

  • This tab provides a complete list of all IP addresses that have been blocked by ClickSambo, either automatically by our system or manually by you.
  • Review this list to understand which IPs are repeat offenders. You also have the option to manually unblock an IP from this list if you believe it was blocked in error.

3. Location

  • This view provides a geographical breakdown of your ad clicks, often on a map and in a table, highlighting which countries, regions, or cities are the source of the most fraudulent activity.
  • If you identify high fraud from locations you do not serve, you can add them to your campaign's "Location exclusions" list in Google Ads to improve your targeting and reduce wasted spend.

4. Campaign

  • This tab aggregates all click data and organizes it by your Google Ads campaigns, making it easy to see which specific campaigns are receiving the most fraud.
  • Compare the performance of different campaigns. If one has an unusually high fraud rate, you may need to review its targeting (audiences, placements, etc.) or reallocate your budget to better-performing campaigns.

5. Placement

  • For campaigns running on the Google Display Network or YouTube, this tab shows the specific websites, YouTube channels, or apps where your ads were shown and clicked. It will highlight placements that are driving invalid traffic.
  • If you discover that certain websites or apps are consistently sending fraudulent clicks, you can add them as "Placement exclusions" in your Google Ads campaign to prevent your ads from appearing there again.

6. Keywords

  • This view breaks down your clicks by the specific search keywords that triggered your ads, showing which terms are being targeted by bots or click spam.
  • Identify if low-quality or overly broad keywords are attracting a high volume of fraud. You can use this data to refine your keyword list or adjust bidding strategies.

7. Fraud Types

  • This tab groups all blocked clicks by the reason they were flagged, such as Over-Threshold for, Fraudulent Behavior, or Manually Blocked.
  • How to use this insight: Understand the nature of the threats you're facing. A high number of Data Center blocks, for example, indicates sophisticated bot attacks, while Over-Threshold might point to simple click spam.

By using these different tabs, you can move from a general overview to a highly specific investigation, giving you the powerful insights needed to not only block fraud but also to strategically optimize your Google Ads campaigns for better performance.
