How to Securely Connect Your Google Ads Account
Connecting your Google Ads account is the most important step to activate ClickSambo's automatic protection features. The connection is made through a secure, Google-approved process directly from your ClickSambo dashboard.
This process grants our application limited and specific permissions to protect your campaigns by automatically updating your IP exclusion lists and tracking templates.
As a certified Google Click Tracker partner, our integration has been verified by Google as secure and reliable. You can view our official listing on the Google Ads Help Center.
Step-by-Step Connection Guide
Step 1: Navigate to the Connections Page You can connect your account at any time from within your ClickSambo dashboard.
- Log in to your ClickSambo account.
- Navigate to Account Settings > Connections.
Step 2: Start the Authentication Process
- Click the Connect button next to the Google Ads logo.
- You will be redirected to a secure Google sign-in page. Log in using the email address that has Admin or Standard access to your Google Ads account.
Step 3: Grant Required Permissions
- After signing in, Google will display a consent screen. This screen lists the specific permissions ClickSambo needs to manage your tracking settings and IP exclusion lists.
- Review the permissions and click Allow to authorize the connection.
Step 4: Select Your Ad Account
- Once you grant permission, you will be redirected back to the ClickSambo dashboard.
- If your Google account has access to multiple Google Ads accounts, a dropdown menu will appear.
- Select the specific Google Ads Account ID (e.g.,
123-456-7890
) that you want ClickSambo to protect.
Step 5: Confirm the Connection After selecting your account, the page will update to show a "Connected" status. Your account is now linked, and ClickSambo's automatic protection features are enabled.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter an issue, check the following:
- Check Your Permissions: Ensure the Google account you are using has Admin or Standard level access to your Google Ads account. "Read-only" access is not sufficient.
- Pop-up Blockers: Temporarily disable pop-up blockers in your browser, as they can interfere with the Google authentication window.
- Connected the Wrong Account? If you linked the wrong Google Ads account, simply return to Account Settings > Connections, click "Disconnect," and then repeat the connection process.
