Setting up ClickSambo Tracking with Search Ads 360 (SA360)?

This guide is for advanced users who manage their search engine accounts (like Google Ads) through the Search Ads 360 (SA360) platform.

It is critical to understand that SA360 acts as a management layer that controls the URL and tracking settings for all linked accounts. Therefore, to integrate ClickSambo correctly, all tracking template modifications must be made directly within the SA360 interface, not in Google Ads.

The Golden Rule for SA360 Integration

Warning: Never add or modify tracking templates directly in a Google Ads account that is managed by SA360. The SA360 platform will automatically overwrite any changes you make in Google Ads, which will break your tracking.

Step 1: Get Your SA360 Tracking Parameters

The parameters used for SA360 are different from our standard Google Ads tracking template.

  • Log in to your ClickSambo account.
  • Navigate to Account Settings > Connections.
  • Find and copy the specific tracking parameters provided for Search Ads 360 integration.

Step 2: Add the Parameters to Your SA360 URL Template

You will need to append ClickSambo's parameters to your existing SA360 URL template.

This is typically done at the Engine Account level for site-wide protection.

Log in to your Search Ads 360 account.

Navigate to the settings for the Engine Account you wish to track.

Locate the "Tracking template" field.

You must carefully append the ClickSambo tracking parameters to the end of the existing SA360 URL template. The exact method of appending (using & or another character) depends on the structure of your existing template.Example: If your template looks like https://www.sa360.com/tracker?id=...{lpurl} you would add the ClickSambo parameter at the end.

Save your changes in the SA360 interface.

Step 3: Verify the Integration

After saving, allow time for SA360 to sync the updated template to your linked ad accounts.

Perform several test clicks on your live ads to ensure that data is appearing correctly in both your SA360 reports and your ClickSambo dashboard.

Confirm that your ads are running correctly and that there are no "landing page not found" errors.

Important Considerations for SA360 Users

Always Use SA360-Specific Parameters: Only use the tracking parameters specifically provided by ClickSambo for SA360. The standard Google Ads template URL will not work correctly.

Consult Your Account Manager: Modifying SA360 templates can be complex and can affect your campaign performance if done incorrectly. If you are part of an agency or a large team, we highly recommend consulting with your SA360 account manager before making changes.
