While related, they serve two very different purposes: one is about how accounts are organized, and the other is about how we get secure permission to connect.
Think of it like a landlord managing an apartment building:
What It Is: An organizational structure within Google Ads. A Manager Account (also known as an MCC or "My Client Center") is a special type of Google Ads account used to manage multiple other Google Ads accounts from a single dashboard.
Its Purpose: It's designed for agencies and managers to efficiently view and make changes to their clients' accounts (like adding IP exclusions).
The Analogy: The Manager Account is the landlord who holds the master key to several apartments (your Google Ads accounts).
What It Is: A permission protocol. OAuth is the modern, secure standard for granting an application (like ClickSambo) limited access to your data without you ever sharing your password.
Its Purpose: It's the process that happens when you see a Google pop-up asking for your consent to "allow" an app to access your account.
The Analogy: OAuth is the secure, verifiable handshake where you (the tenant) grant the landlord permission to enter your apartment for a specific purpose (like repairs).
We use our Manager Account to request access to your Google Ads account so our system can perform tasks like applying IP blocks.
To approve this connection, you go through the Google OAuth process (clicking "Allow" on the Google consent screen).
In short: Manager Access is the type of relationship we have with your account, while OAuth is the secure method you use to approve that relationship.
