Auto Blocking Rules
ClickSambo’s Auto Blocking system proactively protects your ad campaigns by detecting and stopping malicious traffic patterns in real-time. Below are the features available under this section:
Auto Blocking
- What It Does Auto-Blocking is our proactive defense feature that works 24/7 to protect your campaigns. It uses ClickSambo's advanced detection algorithms to continuously monitor your traffic, instantly blocking suspicious IP addresses (including both Click Fraud and Bot Traffic) and high-risk visitors before they can negatively impact your ad spend or data accuracy.
- How It Works When Auto-Blocking is enabled, the system uses the rules and thresholds you have configured in your settings. For example, any visitor whose Bot Probability Score exceeds your set Bot Score Threshold will be automatically blocked. Similarly, any IP that violates your Click Fraud Threshold rules will also be blocked instantly. It automates the enforcement of your protection policies.
- Important: Plan Availability The functionality of this feature depends on your ClickSambo subscription plan.
- For Detection Plan Users: The Auto-Blocking feature is not available on the Detection plan. On this plan, ClickSambo identifies and reports all suspicious activity, but you must review the data and manually block or unblock IP addresses yourself. This plan is designed for users who want full visibility and manual control.
- For Protection Plan Users: The Auto-Blocking feature is fully available on the Protection plan. When you toggle this feature ON, the system will automatically block threats based on your settings. Crucially, when an IP is blocked by ClickSambo, it is also automatically added to the IP exclusion list in your linked Google Ads campaigns. This ensures you stop paying for clicks from that fraudulent source immediately. You also retain the ability to manually block or unblock any IP address, giving you the powerful combination of automated platform protection and direct ad network defense.
IP Range Exclusion
When enabled, ClickSambo blocks entire IP ranges (e.g., 172.165.11.*
) if excessive clicks are detected from multiple addresses within that range.
Use this to combat coordinated fraud attempts or abuse originating from shared network environments.
You can manually add IP ranges for exclusion using CIDR notation (e.g., 10.0.0.0/24
) or wildcard format (e.g., 192.168.1.*
).
Add one IP range per line in the input field and click Update to save changes.
