Ads Clicks Tab: Tracking Specific Ad Interactions

The Ads Clicks tab provides a detailed log of every ad click attributed to the IP address you are investigating. This view is essential for connecting suspicious on-site behavior directly back to your advertising spend.

Data Logged for Each Ad Click

Each entry in the log provides precise details about the click's origin and context:

Click Identifiers: Includes the unique Device ID (to link with other on-site activity) and the GCLID (Google Click Identifier).

Campaign Source: Shows the exact Campaign and Keyword that triggered the click in your Search campaigns.

Placement Details: For Display, Video, or Performance Max campaigns, this specifies the website, app, or YouTube channel where the ad was shown.

Click Time: The precise timestamp when the ad click occurred.

Application in Fraud Analysis

This tab provides the direct evidence needed to identify and act on targeted click fraud. It allows you to:

Attribute Fraud: Link suspicious activity from a specific IP or Device ID directly to the campaign, keyword, or placement that is being targeted.

Identify Placement Fraud: Pinpoint specific websites or apps in your Display Network campaigns that are sending invalid traffic.

Compile Evidence: Gather the necessary data, including GCLIDs and timestamps, to report invalid clicks to ad platforms like Google Ads for potential refunds.
