In Google Ads, settings follow a hierarchy: lower-level settings override higher-level ones. This applies to Tracking Templates:
- An Ad Group template overrides a Campaign template.
- A Campaign template overrides an Account template.
- A Keyword/Ad template is the most specific.
Relevance: If the tool's template is set at the Account Level, a custom template at a lower level will override it. Check for these overrides if experiencing tracking issues.
Account Level: This is the highest level. A tracking template set here applies to all campaigns, ad groups, keywords, and ads within the account, unless overridden by a lower-level template.
Campaign Level: A tracking template set at the campaign level will override the account-level template for all ad groups, keywords, and ads within that specific campaign.
Ad Group Level: A tracking template set at the ad group level will override both campaign-level and account-level templates for all keywords and ads within that specific ad group.
Keyword/Ad Level: These are the most specific levels. A tracking template applied directly to a keyword or an individual ad will override any templates set at the ad group, campaign, or account level for that particular keyword or ad.
If ClickSambo's tracking template is set at the Account Level, but you have custom tracking templates configured at a lower level (e.g., Campaign, Ad Group, Keyword, or Ad), those lower-level templates will take precedence and override the account-level ClickSambo template.
If you are experiencing any issues with ClickSambo's tracking or data collection, it's crucial to check for these potential overrides. Verify that there are no lower-level tracking templates that might be conflicting with or replacing the ClickSambo template you've set at a higher level. Ensuring consistency in your tracking template setup across all relevant levels will help maintain accurate data flow for click fraud detection.
